A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Photographer Unknown

Isn’t this interesting? Basically, what I’m thinking happens is that as the layers of the tree build and build and build, the bike gets encased. You can tell that its been awhile because the bike is not only close to the center of the tree but it seems that there’s a substantial height from the ground. Cool huh?

What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.

I was always hungry for love. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like to get my fill of it — to be fed so much love I couldn’t take any more. Just once.
